The person behind the stitches
Hi, I'm Sussie.
I've been sewing since I was old enough to hold a needle — and I haven't stopped since. What started as a hobby became a calling, and now I get to spend my days making things that matter to people.
My story
From a little girl with a needle to a studio full of fabric
I grew up watching my grandmother quilt. She'd sit at her frame for hours, humming to herself, turning scraps of old clothing into something beautiful. I didn't understand it then — I just knew it felt like magic.
When I was twelve, she handed me a needle and said 'your turn.' I made a mess of it. But I kept going. By the time I was in high school I was making my own clothes, and by my twenties I was making them for everyone around me.
I opened my home studio after years of sewing on the side — for friends, for family, for anyone who asked. It felt like the right time to make it official. That was over a decade ago, and I've never looked back.
Today I work with a small number of clients at a time so I can give every project the attention it deserves. I believe in slow work, honest materials, and pieces that last. I'm not interested in fast fashion — I'm interested in the quilt your grandchildren will fight over someday.

What I believe in
The way I work
Slow and intentional
I don't rush. Every seam, every stitch, every decision gets the time it needs. Good work can't be hurried.
Honest materials
I use quality fabrics and threads that will hold up over time. I'd rather tell you something costs more than cut corners you'll notice in five years.
Made for real people
I'm not making art for a gallery. I'm making things for people to use, wear, and love. That changes how I think about every project.
Small on purpose
I keep my client list small so I can be fully present for every project. You'll always know where your piece is and how it's going.
Want to work together?
I'd love to hear about your project — whether it's a quilt you've been dreaming about for years or a top that just needs finishing.
